Great weekend for Ohio State!!

Besides winning the Men's Big 10 Basketball championship - the Men's hockey team beat Michigan last night. Michigan wasn't too happy to blowing the game and a fight broke out after the game. Check out the video below.

Ohio State Big Ten Champs!! - Hoops Pool Updates

Osu

Kudos to Matta and the Thad Five!! Another Big Ten Championship. Could this be the year for OSU to win the NCAA? Probably not - but one never knows. I am contemplating buying season tickets to the Bucks next year for hoops. While I am sure I would likely miss a few games during the week, its less than 1.5 hours to the arena. Time will tell.

Nenni is absolutely running away with this year's hoops pool. Doesn't hurt that he has the Bucks either. Very competitive year for third place. Should be interesting to see how the conference tourneys effect the outcome.

Today Google acquired You Tube. Should be very interesting in what features are added. Even more interesting will be the DMCA lawsuits that are sure to come for potential copyright infringement. Different than Napster - You Tube is actually hosting the videos - many of which contain IP rights of others.

For example, the video below contains the IP rights of several parties. Fair Use? You be the judge.

Troy Smith Suspended for MasterCard Alamo Bowl

Simply Amazing ...

Ohio State football coach
Jim Tressel has suspended quarterback Troy Smith for the MasterCard Alamo Bowl for violating team and NCAA rules and standards.

"All of our players, including Troy, know they have a number of responsibilities to fulfill in order to have the privilege of playing at Ohio State," said Tressel. "Troy has not fulfilled those responsibilities and therefore will not be able to play in the Alamo Bowl."

The Buckeyes play Oklahoma State on Dec. 29 in the Alamodome.

Ohio State's Director of Athletics Andy Geiger said the university has petitioned the NCAA for Smith's reinstatement for the 2005 season.

Buckeyes Need Some Offense

Well, there are not many things worse than watching the Buckeyes get beat - but 2 weeks in a row is almost unbearable. The offensive play calling is really hurting as well as Zwick struggling to hit his receivers today. The loss puts the Big Ten Championship out of the picture and reduces OSU to spoiler role as well as leaving the Michigan Game. The Bucks may lose 4 or 5 games - hopefully no more. I am still hoping for a victory over Michigan and possibly over Purdue. I guess losing 14 players to the NFL has taken its effect on the team. It is a rebuilding year, where in the past the Bucks did not rebuild but rather reload. The defense backfield is struggling and having difficulties getting turnovers (although quick whistles cost the Buckeyes at least two fumble recoveries - but most likely did not cause the Bucks to lose).

Oh well, I really am only concerned - looking forward to - two games rest of the season - Purdue and Michigan. I will be in Vegas for the Purdue game and who knows where for the Michigan game.
