One difficult puzzle

This weekend my sister and her husband brought two puzzles each comprising only 9 tiles with pictures of dogs or cats on them. It was probably one of the most difficult puzzles that most have ever seen. I spent a few hours with no luck and several of my relatives spent equal amounts of time with no success. My cousins, Sam and Jake - were very diligent for several hours but still no luck.

Finally, last night just as I was about to put them away I decided to try one last time. I focused on the fact that three tiles comprised only three animals, whereas all the others had 4. The tiles have either a head or body of one of four animals.

With that in mind, I solved the cat puzzle - I then moved onto and solved the dog puzzle.

Luck? who knows - but I did save the $15 bounty that I has posted to the first one who solved them.

Here is a great picture of Libbey - a real Apple fan already and she is not even 4 years of age. She loves listening to music - whether on tape or on an iPod.
