Full Liquids Started Today

Today, I progressed to the Full Liquid Phase of the post-gastric bypass surgery. Prior to today, I was on clear liquids only. Clear liquids comprised broth, water, sugar-free jello and diluted juices. Now under Full Liquids, I am back on protein shakes, sugar free pudding, creme soups, yogurts, etc. Much more diverse menu! I was really starting to get tired of the diluted juices. The protein helps healing and kicks off the weight loss phase. It will be a few more weeks until I get to any type of solid food. We need to ensure that the connections in the new pouch and the small intestines are healed before sending down more solid items.
The weather outside has been great which helps when I need to talk a walk to keep the circulation moving. I feel better today than yesterday and hopefully that trend will continue. Thanks again for all of your support!

I’m Home!!

Just want to let everyone know that I am home from the hospital and on the road to recovery. The surgery went very well and the doctors were very happy with my recovery so far. Its good to be home. I will post some more details in the next day or so – but just wanted to thank everyone for their support and prayers.

Tuesday is the big day

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 20th is the day of my gastric bypass surgery. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am. Surgery is schedule to start around 7:30-8:00am. I will post an update once I get home from ths hospital which will most likely be sometime this weekend.
Thanks for all of your support!

> One of my websites www.geofoberhaus.com is not functioning. In
addition, I have been unable to access vie FTP. I called technical support and
she informed me that 1and1 was having some difficulty with some new
servers. This is simply unacceptable!!
> Also – I cannot understand why some of the domains work that pull from
my same user account and not the main one. After waiting on the phone
for over 20+ minutes – I still have no answers, Please tell me what the issue
is – when it will be resolved and what type of credit to my account can I
expect for this unacceptable outage.
> I used to be a major fan of 1and1.com – Now I am really starting to think
> it is time to move my sites somewhere else.
> Thank You

Yes – I did cancel my account effective April 15, 2007 – but that still doesn’t resolve your hosting problems!!
Avoid 1and1.com at all cost!! I have called technical support 5-6 times in the last week and each time (when I actually get connected) they apologize for their “connectivity” problem with their new servers location – One would expect them to test this before moving everything to the new server location. Oh well – GoDaddy servers have many more useful features and much better customer service.

Now on the new server

The blog is now hosted on the new server. I am sure that most of the image links do not work. That will be fixed in the future – but at least for now – the blog is up and running and hopefully www.geofoberhaus.com will start pointing to this site later today.

The process has begun to move the server

As noted earlier, my hosting company 1and1.com is having major problems. As a result of their terrible customer service, lack of technical support and overall poor hosting performance this last week – I am moving the server to GoDaddy.com. It will hopefully be a seemless move for readers of my blog. I hope to have the new server up and running within the next day. The domain name will eventually be the same. If the URL above contains an IP address rather than geofoberhaus.com – you are viewing the blog from the new server but the domain name has not yet transferred.
I am sure that there may be some lost links for images, etc. upon the move. It has been very difficult to copy the existing content from the 1and1 server since it keeps going down.

Update on the hosting of this site

After downtime of approximately 48 hours, my hosting company, www.1and1.com, may have finally resolved the problem. In the meantime, I have set-up an account with GoDaddy.com in case the issues return. Very frustrating experience with 1and1.com lately. If it wasn’t such a major task to move the site (especially the blog and its database) I would have already moved to GoDaddy.com. If 1and1.com gives me any more problems – once I return home for recovery from my surgery I will begin the task of seting up the new server and switching over. Don’t worry – it will still be www.geofoberhaus.com – just coming from a different server location. 1and1.com recently built a brand new state of the art server facility, but had some error giving them connectivity problems.

Major Hosting Problems

The hosting company for my website www.1and1.com has been having major outages lately. Looks like I am going to have to shop for a new hosting company. Major pain as I will have to back up several thousand files, etc. But if the hosting problems continue, I will have no choice.
