Keeneland, iPod photo and Univ. of Detroit

Getting ready to head to Keeneland tomorrow for a day at the track. Should be a great day. I got to check out the 60 GB iPod photo edition today. Very nice, color screen and 60GB storage. Definitely a nice improvement, but my 20GB iPod is just fine for now.
I got a letter from my former dean of the engineering school at the University of Detroit. U of D is playing at UC this December and I got invited to an alumni event and to the game. It should be very exciting to see what other U of D alumni are in the area and to catch up with the dean.
Saturday its off to Nashville for a wedding and then back to Mason on Sunday for trick or treating with the neighbors. Busy times but good times.

New iPods announced

Apple today announced the long rumored iPods. The U2 iPod is black with a red click dial and comes with an iTunes gift certificate to download the entire U2 collection. They also introduced the photo iPod with a color screen and dock for the TV. This photo iPod also is the first to use the new 60GB drive and they somehow have improved the battery life to approximately 12-15 hours.
Looking forward to seeing R.E.M. tomorrow night in concert at the Taft Theater. Such a great small venue – should be a great show. Finished moving into my new office – bigger and a better view plus back on the same floor as the patent files and rest of the group.
The election is one week from tonight – Go GOP!!
Vegas trip is two weeks from Thursday – definitely should be a great time.

Busy Times

It has been very busy as of late both professionally and socially. On the work front, the economy is definitely picking up steam as the patent work seems to be increasing each month and the plans for 2005 are very good. This month has been busy with a trip to Jekyll Island in Georgia for wedding of some good friends, a weekend at my parents and another Louisville Cardinal’s football game. The Cards are good and should run the table rest of the way out. This week I am attending some firm seminars on China and India and a trip to Keeneland on Friday before heading to another wedding in Nashville.

Great to see the Buckeyes get back on their winning ways – its definitely a rebuilding year but if they get better each week hopefully they will beat Michigan and then it can be considered a good season. After all, any season with a victory over Michigan is good. Just ask John Cooper.

In November a group of us head to Vegas. Hoping to attend the Big Smoke by Cigar Afficianado while in Vegas. The time has really been flying, haven’t spent more than 2 weeks at home since Labor day. But that always seems to be the case during football season.

One of these days I will starting including more IP content again such as Federal Circuit decisions, etc. but lately its been very busy and limited free time to really keep up on this blog.
